Les fleurs de la passiflore (fleur de la passion) sont d\u2019une beaut\u00e9 \u00e9poustouflante. En m\u00e9decine, l\u2019herbe de la plante est utilis\u00e9e pour ses effets relaxants, calmants et anxiolytiques.<\/p>\n

Les passiflores (Passifloraceae) sont presque toutes originaires d\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Sud, d\u2019Am\u00e9rique centrale ou d\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Nord. En tant que plantes ornementales, elles sont cultiv\u00e9es dans le monde entier pour leurs fleurs spectaculaires, bien que la plupart des esp\u00e8ces ne supportent pas le froid et le gel. Chez nous, on trouve le plus souvent la passiflore bleue (Passiflora caerulea L.) dans les jardins ou comme plante en pot ou d\u2019int\u00e9rieur, et parfois aussi la passiflore officinale (ou dite rustique) (Passiflora incarnata).<\/p>\n

Pour les immigrants chr\u00e9tiens en Am\u00e9rique, les dix p\u00e9tales symbolisaient les ap\u00f4tres (\u00e0 l\u2019exclusion de Judas et Pierre), la bordure filamenteuse du centre de la fleur la couronne d\u2019\u00e9pines du Christ, les cinq \u00e9tamines ses blessures et les trois stigmates les clous de la croix. C\u2019est de la Passion du Christ \u2013 son Chemin de Croix \u2013que la plante tire son nom. La fleur ne dure qu\u2019une journ\u00e9e et d\u00e9gage un parfum agr\u00e9able.<\/p>\n

La \u00abFleur de la Souffrance\u00bb est une plante grimpante \u00e0 feuilles persistantes qui peut atteindre jusqu\u2019\u00e0 cinq m\u00e8tres de haut. Ses feuilles sont trilob\u00e9es et mesurent jusqu\u2019\u00e0 15 centim\u00e8tres de long. Apr\u00e8s la floraison en \u00e9t\u00e9, la plante produit des fruits jaun\u00e2tres de la taille d\u2019un \u0153uf de poule, qui \u00e9taient utilis\u00e9s par les Am\u00e9rindiens comme aliment et pour la fabrication de jus ou de sirop.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Plante m\u00e9dicinale de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2011<\/h4>\n

L\u2019esp\u00e8ce Passiflora incarnata, utilis\u00e9e en m\u00e9decine, a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lue \u00abplante m\u00e9dicinale de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2011\u00bb par des scientifiques de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de W\u00fcrzburg. \u00abD\u00e8s le 17e si\u00e8cle, des moines et des m\u00e9decins arriv\u00e9s en Am\u00e9rique avec les conquistadors espagnols ont observ\u00e9 comment les Indiens employaient la plante\u00bb, expliquent les chercheurs de W\u00fcrzburg. \u00abAujourd\u2019hui, les extraits de passiflore (Passiflora incarnata) servent \u00e0 traiter l\u2019agitation nerveuse, les troubles l\u00e9gers du sommeil et les troubles gastro-intestinaux d\u2019origine nerveuse. Pour renforcer l\u2019effet calmant, l\u2019extrait est souvent administr\u00e9 en combinaison avec d\u2019autres plantes m\u00e9dicinales, comme la val\u00e9riane.\u00bb La passiflore est \u00e9galement associ\u00e9e au houblon, au millepertuis, \u00e0 la lavande, \u00e0 la m\u00e9lisse et au p\u00e9tasite.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
